a much needed {update}

Sorry for the lack of update! Here's some of the major points and locations we've been to! If you want to see more, then just check out my Facebook :)

We had class on the top of the Mount of Olives. This is the whole group! (Plus our teacher for Minor Prophets from Germany - Joey).

We also went to the Dome of the Rock on the Temple Mount. Seriously so crazy to see in person. Makes my heart hurt for the Muslim people.

Our dean of women, Katie (pictured below), met a little Muslim girl. She was the sweetest thing ever but my heart broke even more as this girl was alone going about her business with her Koran and doing Muslim practices. She didn't really speak English so we couldn't really communicate with her unfortunately but it was still a blessing knowing that the Lord put her in our path to maybe show some of God's love to her. If you remember, please be keeping her and all the Muslim people in your prayers! They are in desperate need of finding their true Messiah.

This is bedrock (which is different than the rest of the ground on the Temple Mount). My feet are standing on what is to believed where the Holy of Holies stood. This is a place that only the high priests could go into once a year to atone for the sins of the people. And now I'm able to stand there.

     "After this there was a feast of the Jews, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. Now there is in Jerusalem by the Sheep Gate a pool, which is called in Hebrew, Bethesda, having five porches. In these lay a great multitude of sick people, blind, lame, paralyzed, waiting for the moving of the water. For an angel went down at a certain time into the pool and stirred up the water; then whoever stepped in first, after the stirring of the water, was made well of whatever disease he had. Now a certain man was there who had an infirmity thirty-eight years. When Jesus saw him lying there, and knew that he already had been in that condition a long time, He said to him, “Do you want to be made well?” The sick man answered Him, “Sir, I have no man to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up; but while I am coming, another steps down before me.” Jesus said to him, “Rise, take up your bed and walk.” And immediately the man was made well, took up his bed, and walked."
{John 5:1-9}

     We went to the Southern Steps, which would have led to the temple when Jesus walked the earth. Some of the steps are dated back to His time, so it's pretty amazing to be able to stand somewhere that Jesus most likely walked. Not to mention that it was a beautiful day to top it all off!

"Then they came to a place which was named Gethsemane; and He said to His disciples, “Sit here while I pray.” And He took Peter, James, and John with Him, and He began to be troubled and deeply distressed. Then He said to them, “My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death. Stay here and watch.” He went a little farther, and fell on the ground, and prayed that if it were possible, the hour might pass from Him. And He said, “Abba, Father, all things are possible for You. Take this cup away from Me; nevertheless, not what I will, but what You will.”
{Mark 14:32-36}

Sunday was a lovely, relaxing day at the beach :) Despite a slightly hectic day getting there and all, it was soooo nice to just sit on a beach. Yes, I'm from Southern California. Yes, I get a little too excited to see the ocean.
